Walking Street Pattaya hosts all sorts of interesting spectacles and the scene in this picture is just one of them. The photo was taken in March 2012 and the girl performing the acrobatics is now quite a bit bigger. She is still performing the same show but the 6 tumbler glasses have now gone. Just as well really.... or an unpleasant tumble may well have followed!
The picture gives a good sense of the sort of customers that are attracted to Walking Street these days. Basically, it's a very cosmopolitan sort of place that all kinds of people enjoy. People from many different countries, couples, singles, men, women, young and old all mix together here.
The picture was taken at about 8pm and the night is just starting to get going. Unlike some of the other nightspots in Pattaya, this place is always busy. That said, some of the business owners here do complain that the more cosmopolitan visitors of today are more fond of Walking and picture taking than of sitting down and spending cash! Maybe they should change the name of the street to 'Cash Spending Street' so people get the right idea?!??!
During the day the soi has a very different feel to it. For one thing there are vehicles driving up and down making deliveries and so on. These vehicles are not allowed after dark and the place becomes a pedestrian zone. A visit during the day is worthwhile if you just want a cold drink and to watch the daily hustle and bustle.
The blue gogo bar that you can see behind the acrobatic show is 'Living Dolls', it's one of the better bars and well worth checking out next time you visit.
I'm not sure what information the sign in the top right corner is meant to convey... there certainly are plenty of 'odd dates' available all around Walking Street Pattaya, and not just between the hours of 09:00 to 19:00! I'm fairly certain that the sign means something else, but I've no idea what it could be....
